Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser Skin Resurfacing at Oregon Derma Center is more effective than ever. With the use of the award winning Fortona Laser, the process is extremely gentle and requires little to no downtime.

When you receive a Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment, you’ll experience visible results in correcting moderate to severe skin wrinkles and scars. The fractional laser energy penetrates 15-20% of the surface without damaging the surrounding tissue. The untreated area will then act as a reservoir and rapidly restore the 15-20% of area that was resurfaced and bring new collagen and healthy tissue to the surface. The gentleness of the procedure allows delicate areas such as the neck, chest and hands to be treated as safely as the face. There is a short period of downtime with this procedure and mild discomfort. Within 7-14 days of the procedure your wrinkles and scars have noticeably diminished and you skin continues to develop new collagen for 6 months post treatment.

What Is Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Also known as a laser skin peel, and laser vaporization. Laser Skin Resurfacing with Oregon Derma Center is designed to reduce facial wrinkles, scars and blemishes. Our state of the art technology gives us the ability to control the procedure with extreme precision in removing the following blemishes:

  • Wrinkles and Fine Lines
  • Liver Spots
  • Aged or Sun Damaged Skin
  • Warts
  • Scars From Injuries
  • Birthmarks
  • Enlarged Oil Glands
  • Yellow or Grey Skin Tones
  • Non-Responsive Skin After A Facelift
  • Scars From Acne or Chickenpox

How Does It Work?

Laser Skin Resurfacing is all about the beams of light. During the procedure, concentrated pulsating beams of light are sent into the skin at the location of the blemish. This removes tiny layers of skin in a very precise manner which allows for extreme accuracy. Because of this advanced targeting, laser skin resurfacing is associated with fewer cased of hypopigmentation, or lighting of the skin, for procedures like acne scar and pox scar removal. The laser used in the procedure removes the upper layer of the skin while heating the underlying layer of skin which stimulates growth of new collagen fibers making the new skin look smoother, firmer, and more youthful.
